Plugging Away, Living the Dream...

Ah!  After months of spinning my wheels, I'm finally seeing something happening for my career again.  This week, two auditions for martial arts acting roles.  Yessss...

Training at a new Dojo too, House of Champions in Van Nuys.  Arjukenpo, kickboxing, capoeira, escrima... having a blast.  Getting more Wushu in too, spending time working on my basics during open mat hours.

Here we go...

Hi Xanga world!

Which is to say, "hi wushu friends!"

Wow... been a long time.  I miss you guys.  I miss wushu.  I miss some things about the bay area (like the close proximity of wushu, and rock climbing gyms, and ...did I mention you guys!!?? arrggh.... I can't believe I was too lame to blow off school and work to come up for the BWT extravaganza.  Heidi's bad choice #89, 472).  All in all, so cal life is going well though... minus the occaisional pain of having moved back in with my parents, and the sudden realization that its been months since I've stepped foot in a wushu guan.

Staying focused on the career stuff pretty well though, supposedly I'll be workin on a few indy films early next year, and I've fallen into this weird pattern of seeing my friends on TV on a daily basis.  Sunday it was Spice on Charmed, then Monday I saw Heather's Capital One spot, then yesterday suddenly there was Li Jing on Threshold.  This can only mean good things :)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  xoxoxox!

I just had my first stunt audition and my first stunt film shoot in the same day.  I wonder how many people can say that? :D

BTW, I didn't make Japan, but I do make a badass falling nightmare clown :).

-Tomorrow I audition to spend a year performing as a stunt girl at Universal Studios Japan, near Osaka

Sorry for the lack of blog, it's been a crazy month of surreal Hollywood adventures and big life changes:

-2 acting leads in student film projects
-seat filling gig and afterparty hookup with friends for the Stunt industry's version of the Oscars (watch it Thursday 8pm on E! -- its a cool show)
-landed my first paying stunt job, doing an acting/stunts part at Magic Mountain for Halloween Fright Fest.  Anyone want discount tix to the park?
-Picked up another job, teaching hip hop to teenagers at the YMCA.  It rocks - great way to spend a Friday night.
-I'm producing a play for a theater company who can't get along with their directors. These walking egos need to save their drama for the stage!  It's ridiculous.
-Got to see narom on his brief visit to the states.
-Haven't done wushu since I left Berkeley :(
-Have been doing a lot of stunt training.
-Started classes in gymnastics and horseback riding.  School's never been so fun.
-I learned 6-strap Harnesses are hot.  They make you look and feel badass, that whole Laura Croft thing.

Weird.  Big Changes.

Teaching at the gym is rad.  And having a class called "boot camp" lets you get away with a lot :)

Heidi's in the news!  Somehow my silly but (well, my name anyway) ended up in lastTuesday's Wall Street journal.  I posted a copy at my janky temporary website.
